Some Interesting Design Blogs

This blog is also meant to be a design resource for our students. In this first post about design resources, we will be exploring other design blogs that are worth following to keep up with what's going on in the field.

Edited by Steven Heller, this is the official online publication for the AIGA. Articles include interviews, essays and criticism. Professionals in the field such as Ellen Lupton, whom many of you must know as the author of typography textbooks, are regular contributors. Subscribing to the RSS feed of this blog is definitely worth it to keep yourself current and informed. Also, you'll be amazed at the number of professional designers who write about design—a possibility you should definitely consider if you're good at writing and designing isn't quite enough for you...

Great resource for web designers and developers.

Decor8
Great interior design blog.

Designaside
This is in Italian, but it's worth mentioning because the findings are fabulous and include graphic design, web design, industrial design, photography, book arts, graffiti and all things visual.

The Design Cubicle
Run by Brian Hoff, a designer in Philadelphia, this blog focuses on client education and design awareness.

Design Is History
This site was part of the graduate thesis of designer Dominic Flask at Fort Hays State University in Kansas, and it's an awesome resource to learn about the history of design, famous designers of the past and the present as well as different categories of design.

Architecture, interior design, art, style and fashion, technology.

Design Observer
One of the most popular design publications, with editors and contributors such as Michael Bierut, Debbie Millman and Jessica Helfand.

Design Sponge
Great home and product design resource.

Design You Trust
Updated hourly, this blog is a huge source of inspiration for designers and creatives.
